Kieren, yes, could well do, thanks. Don't know my right size, unfortunately. Should have tried on someone's Next%'s after the 10K, too!

The Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 2 reduced to £144 at Sportshoes in most sizes, and with the easily available 15% voucher ( signup to run 1000 miles in 2022 at Trail Running Mag ) then down to £122

I guess/hope there'll be quite a few reductions like that as new versions come out. Adios Pro 3 is imminent, as is Asics Metaspeed 2, and I keep seeing pictures of the new Alphafly (which somehow they've made even uglier than the first one!)

*pedantic mode on*

Asics are calling their upgrades to the Metaspeed range as the Sky+ rather than Sky 2 ( and Edge+ rather than Edge 2 )

Kristian Blummenfelt will be wearing Asics Metaspeed Sky+ shoes as well for this Sub7 attempt. I actually know his opponent tomorrow (Joe Skipper), he's a local guy who I chat with at races and have trained with (when he's been doing REALLY easy stuff!). He'll be wearing Hoka Rocket X and I can't help but feel the shoes will give Blummenfelt an advantage.

I've bought a pair of the original Sky, waiting for them to turn up.

That's a bit of a poor sponsorship compromise, I suppose. The new Rocket 3's are supposed to be an improvement, but I've got a pair of the original Hoka Rocket and they're not more than just a nice bouncy race shoe.

Yes, Oranj, I think that's true. I think I might send him the link to the Dustin Joubert article (https://scientifictriathlon.com/tts322/#t-1635693046699) once the Sub7 challenge is out of the way...

That's the price you pay for more money. Hola sponsor quite a few sub elite (not saying this guy is sub elite) as I've said previously and you can see quite a bit on social media. Definitely seems to me that Hola have the marketing down.

I haven't seen that Saucony do the same but they also seem to have more hype than their worth IMO.

He came 2nd, but in a time of 6:47:37, which is scarcely credible - 3.8km swim in 53 miutes, 55km/h for 180km on the bike and then a marathon of 2:36. 3 minutes behind Blummenfelt. I reckon with the Asics it might have been a lot closer.
