Definitely seems odd not to describe how they like hill sessions done including the recovery. If I assumed it's like jda described, I'd expect you'd take as long the jog back to the start needed. If it was what WW suggested, I'd expect you'd recovery to be a time thing and maybe even stationary.

Pfitzinger is odd like that, but then the FRR book is covering a lot of bases.

I don’t understand why you’d need an interval if I am so very wrong? Run hard up, jog back, then have a rest as well 🤷🏼‍♂️?

WW - Confused, you run 3 mins, jog back then go again, there's no reference to a stationary rest.

Hill reps are a favourite of mine often I use them to help the hamstrings

I run short ones approx 10 secs (tend not to time these short ones now as I do them on the same hill so just start and finish at the landmark i used to finish around when I timed them). I also do some down hill sprints or strides as well.
Just finished base training for Grimsby 10k in July. Around the start of the training phase I did a 5k TT in 19:44 so repeating it today on the same course to see what happens

Good luck :-) Hopefully you see improvement that points to a sub 40.

I have entered a bunch on 10Ks in the coming months. I doubt I have any hope of sub 40, but it would be nice to see a steady progress and I get used to the pain again. First one is at Dinton in May.

Hopefully CW be interesting to see what happens when park run starts again. May be my only 10k of the year still deciding what to run at the leaf kicker in October choice of 10k 10 miles or half marathon. Tempted to do the ten miler as it fits perfect in my build up for my November marathon and my 10 mile PB is a bit soft compared to the other distances

Good luck with yours CW

Sounds like hills is ending up a bit like intervals. I do hill sprints but there's obviously a vast difference between that and the type of session Larkim was talking about (even if we aren't clear how the session should be done, lol).
