Thanks Trin

Guess I should have posted that on sub 4 thread, if there is one?

There is, Mrs J :)

(Could do with the name being changed since most folk going for "4 hours" won't be going for 4:00:01 or over.)

Great running in Valencia, Trin. Belated congratulations on an awesome race!

I'm reviving the thread because I'm going for a sub 3:45 next month - first attempt since Leipzig Marathon in April 2018 where I got 3:45 and some change because we finished in 27Β°C and I don't like the heat (I was training for a 3:30 but I could bury that thought as soon as I saw the forecast for that weekend).

Since then, a surprise 3:47:53 in the Lausitz marathon in July 2019 where I just wanted to finish, a run/walk 4:04:55 in the Bodensee Marathon in September 2019 and then lockdown, thyroid surgery and rebuilding in 2020 and 2021. But I'm back now!
I ran a team marathon in February with a team of 3, aiming for 4:45 which was a nice and easy training run for me. We finished in 4:44:44 so bang on target.

So here's me sticking my hand up and saying i'm going for a sub 3:45. And maybe a sub 3:30...

I'll write a blog about it to go into more detail, but 2023 will be the year! I'm aiming to complete at least 3 or 4 marathons next year, but they likely won't all be PB potential, so we'll see what happens.

Room for another one? I haven't signed up yet (will likely be Zurich again) but am looking to do a spring marathon again.

Last marathon was a disappointing 3:5x in October 2021 - a massive PW having trained for a sub 3:30 which on paper I should have been capable of.

Sub 3:45 looks like a good goal therefore and realistic with a recent sub 1:40 HM.

Currently collecting miles on a base training plan before getting stuck into P&D (18 week up to 55 miles).
