Just found this thread, I was rather hoping to aim for sub 3.45 at Poznan in four weeks time but my 10 today suggests otherwise.

I made it into double figures today with a 10.2 I'm still run/walking and I'm pretty sure the issue is with my back causing nerve pain in my hip. My hopes for sub 3.45 at Valencia is now a hope of a) making it to the start line, b) making it to the finish line, and c) maybe a sub 4.30 All in that order 😉 |

I think my Chester will be similar Trin - I think I need to swap the first two numbers ariund, and it'll still be a challenge! Yesterday's 12.5 miler was my longest since July. I had to walk the steep climbs, and the last 3 miles of flat nearly killed me. Everything hurts today |

I've not run a single sub-8 mile this year outside of 5ks, and they've been a struggle, so I would recommend not betting on that. My days of "fast" road marathons are long over. Come to that my days of road marathons are pretty much over. I wasn't even sure I'd entered Chester until a few weeks ago, and other than keeping my Windermere ever-present status going it could well be my last. |

I think I am, but mainly as I have no interest in them any more. My 3:15 PB is well behind me and I have no interest in running them for "fun" as there are many other things I can do for 4-5 hours that I find more fun.

With VMLM places being announced, it seems like a good time to give this thread a bump for spring marathoners. Who's in? Trin, how are you following your visit to the States? |
