I've signed up too which ridiculous given my lack of miles and the last 10 months in general, but lots of club mates are doing it as a sociable run-walk, it may well take all day and I just fancy it as a fun day out. I should be able to runhalf of it at a reasonable pace, but not sure how I'll break the day up yet - will depend on what others are doing to a large extent!

Yes indeed clare, it is shaping up to be a good vibes day out. It’s not the real thing, or even close, but it is something.

Shite weather but great to see so many smiley faces on such a grim day. Not worthy of sidebar recognition but a virtual sub 3:30 for me: 3:26:47 on the watch (26.3 miles); 3:28:04 on the app (26.21 miles). Very happy. |

Any sub 3.30 is worthy of a mention Steve. Did you run it all alone? If so it's definitely worthy of sidebar recognition.

Thanks folks. FF - I did have a couple of guys run with me for decent chunks after 10M which definitely helped, so it certainly wasn’t a solo marathon time trial. However at one particularly gusty upwind leg I did point out that they might be better situated in front of, rather than drafting me😂 Loads of folk out so lots of encouragement and toots from cars. I set off early (just before 0600) and had the pleasure of being paced for 50m by a badger. I’ve just emerged from a bath which I shared with a family-sized portion of red wine. Now I can’t walk. Fleurie anyone🍷? |

Well my official time was 4.46, only 90 mins slower than my PB!!!, but had a really enjoyable day despite the weather with great company and I ran far more than I expected to and deserved to with the training I've (not) been able to do since November last year when I got injured. I've not blogged for ages but I will do this week as I'm not up to date with what I've been able to do and not do over the last few months, leading up to today's run. Plus today was such a wonderful day out that I want to capture a record of it Let me know if there's anything else for the sidebar too! |
