Sorry to hear that riggsy, that's tough after so long into the race. Hope it recovers quickly as it sounds it might do. Roll on the spring!!

That must have been frustrating but sensible pulling out.

Bad luck riggsy. How was the pace up to that point?

Sorry to hear that riggys. But better to bow out than risk a serious injury. You'll be stronger for the next one. :-) G

Hints of aerobic switch being flicked (I hope). Tuesday, ran 7 miles at 8:32 with HR at 145 avg. This morning 10.5 miles at 8:24 with 137 avg. Could just be food / weekday / weather but I'm hoping it is a bit of response to upping intensity in the week, which is something I've seen in the past make a step change to aerobic efficiency.

Too big a gap to be entirely physiological but I'll take it nonetheless.

Sorry about the DNF Riggys

Sounds like progress Larks

I on the other hand am going backwards. Got some personal stuff going on making it hard to run at all, let alone train. Sad times as for once I haven't broken myself by training too hard.

Sorry to hear about that Curly; life getting in the way of running, when running is one of the things that helps to escape life for a little bit, is really frustrating. Hope you can find a way through.

Tough luck riggsy. If it feels ok today do you think it was it was a cramp/tightening?

Look after yourself Curly. Don't worry about not running if you can't.

Thanks everyone

Pace was a bit erratic to be honest some it down to me and some due to the twists and turns of parts of the course.
Yesterday I was regretting a little my decision to stop but today I feel I made the right decision.
Currently looking at the difference in my training for the last two marathons and how I trained for my Pb in November 2019.
Nice to hear of signs of improvement Larkim

Sorry to hear of your problems curly
