In that scenario any target would have been hard to set until you run it again

And I was running for the win (v small field!) rather than a time at all. It was a very interesting change from the vast majority of "races" which I think are really time trials for most of us. But I digress. It sounds like you'll not be far from 3:08 and (apologies if I'm doing you down) don't really believe you have a PB in you. So there you have it.

I think you are right jda l have compared the training for this race to my PB race and it isn’t has good. Will see what the day brings and how the race pans out I.e if I find someone to run with etc

My marathon yesterday was my first DNF a injury to my left hamstring meant i finished at the start of the last lap. Felt something was wrong around 18 miles or so then at around 22 I had to stop running due to a pain in the left hamstring tried to get running again but couldn’t so decided to call it a day when I finished that lap. Very disappointed but that’s sport I suppose. A really good well organised event and I will be back next year.

Today leg feels good and my legs in general feel like I could go out and run.

Time to take reflect learn and plan for April 22 and my next marathon

That must’ve been disappointing, but far better to stop than battle on stubbornly and do more damage. Hope you bounce back stronger.
