Thanks, that looks much the same then and I guess we will just start with 6 and see if there’s enough demand to go fully “covid secure”.

Just read in our regional EA group that a proposal to allow 5000m with 20 people in a race has been put to government (not sure from when though), assuming wave starts would be along similar numbers (that was also suggested in the group).

I am still at vague plans for Gold Coast in July. I am planning to start an 18 week P&D program from Tuesday next week. I haven't run a marathon since before my eldest was born (2012) so will see how marathon training fits into family life before committing to the race.

22 miler this morning, longest run of the plan. Started out at 135 BPM and picked up enough to allow HR to drift out about 1 BPM every mile (at a very wooly average!).

Got home in under 3 hours, averaging 8:07 mm @ 144 BPM (top end of Z2). Last 5 miles were all around 7:30 pace at around 155 BPM.

I'm all dressed up with nowhere to go!

Nice running Paul. You'll be flying out of the starting gates when things start back up!

Cheers Larkim.

None of our race organisers are putting their heads above the parapet. Unfortunate but understandable. I think that may be a line drawn under the "shorter" stuff until the autumn. Hills and Ultras from here I think.

It's a shame, would have been nice to have had a race or two in current form. Hopefully I can can get back to where I am now later in the year.

I'm optimistic that once stuff is actually allowed (rather than promised for the future), and assuming the situation remains relatively rosy, events will start springing up pretty quickly. The guy behind Podium 5k is already making noises. He's done stuff at fairly short notice in the past.

A quick check reveals that Kendal AC have said they are hoping to run a 10k in the summer, if conditions allow.

Paul, I think currently Run Britain aren’t giving out licenses/permits just yet. I think once that is sorted, events will be conformed. This was a post from them last week. Locally to me there are a couple of RDs who I’m sure will put on events pretty quickly once everything is lined up and permitted.

Needless to say as soon as I pony up the entry fee for the 100k, marathon organisers start dropping teasers on facebook. Might have to spin plates for a wee while.

Did the 6 X 1k interval session on the P&D schedule today - 2 minute very easy recoveries.

3:48, 3:42, 3:43: 3:41, 3:41, 3:36.

Last rep was my fasted recorded km on Strava. Which seems a little daft!
