Best thing I’ve gained from RW is Yasoo’s 16 week intermediate marathon training plan which has been followed several times over many years. A fairly simple plan that for me is good enough and kept injuries at bay. I had to unlike their BookFace announcements but I still read it electronically through my library. Takes only a few minutes to read.

You’re right BigG & Cam, I shouldn’t be so cynical. They are by and large knowledgable, nice people. They also need to sell magazines so need those catchy titles.

B Rubble, yeah my experience from RW was really good, I have to say. One of the regular writers interviewed me over the phone (twice, if I recall correctly) and then then they sent two photographers down to Devon to get the pics. They had me running up and down the beach and posing on the steps etc, which was a bit odd as they had all the photography-related gear and I was getting some attention from the public! They gave me some shoes, bought me some food, and then let me have the pics they'd taken. Changing the subject entirely, I had a similar experience with parkrun. About this time last year the Pro Direct guys (who supply the parkrun kit and are local to me) got a few local runners together running in the new kit, and we've been all over the parkrun publicity stuff on social media and their emails, certainly before lockdown, although it's been a bit quieter of late. We each got a new parkrun shirt, hoody and pair of shoes of our choice. That was great morning out too. |

I didn’t realise we had a celebrity on the thread BigG. We’re lucky that the running community is stacked with good people. We’ve even got nice journalists.

Lol And who would have thought that I would be injury free and yet not raced since that actual day (excluding Parkrun’s) |

That was *such* a big celebration. And relief! That you'd (finally!! ) done it. The longest, most dedicated quest in Fetch history, I think!

A year to get the 10 minutes to 3:05, 10 years to get 5 more minutes off. Just another 100 years to get to 2:57:30?
