Anyone else doing Peterborough marathon tomorrow? They've published the start list by bib number (which is also in order of predicted time) enabling some excellent powerof10 stalking of the competition. Plenty of sub 2:45 runners.

Forecast looks ideal (anything can still happen on the day!)

Course fly by video suggests trails in a few places, not super fast but generally ok. Lots of turns might make things interesting once everyone's feeling it.

I see there was another frighteningly impressive time today in the London Marathon from Tommy Hughes, who ran 2:30:46. Good time for anyone, but for a 61 year old, it beggars belief!

As a fellow 61 year old, I can tell you this is somewhat daunting...

It was good to be on the streets of London but I hope they go back to normal next year - that rolling start was crap, no idea who you were in a race with! Had a lot of fun though helping a couple of guys and girls round to their first sub 3s.

Manchester for me in April for a sub 2.40 attempt. Who is still around this thread? Ant? Bob?

I'm still here - just about. I'm hoping to be on the start at York on Sunday for the masters champs, but I've had a string of injuries and am currently resting what I think is peroneal tendonitis. If I make the start I think the goal will be finishing rather than a long sought-after 2.35 :(

Starting the long haul back to full running fitness and Mancs 2022 is also the main aim for me but I think my dreams of 2:45 are in the past now. We’ll see how things pan out over a few winter races.
