So after 89 days with no community transmission in Queensland we have had two19 years olds that have avoided the 2 week isolation period after being in Victoria which have just tested positive so looks like the chances of a half marathon in October just took a nosedive.

Jetty 2 Jetty ran today. There was a cluster of cases related to those girls returning from Melbourne but the authorities were able to keep it contained. Whilst I did train I didn't really commit to sub 90 and failed to do any proper interval or tempo sessions. So today I went out at 4:30 pace hoping for 1:35. Finished in 1 35 48 so reasonably happy.

Over 3-months since the last post... not really surprising given the current situation. I hope everybody is healthy, and running.

Personally, after a number of years of inconsistent running, I am beginning to rediscover my love for running. I have now run +100miles in the last three consecutive months; not significant by many people's standards, nor my own previously, but given I'd only managed to run +100miles in 3 independent months in the past three years, I am relatively happy. I think I'd be happy to break 1:45 for a half currently, but I'd like to be in shape to get below 90mins by the end of the year.

NJO - I see you've a couple of races in your profile coming up? Are races still going ahead on your side of the world; anything to add to the sidebar?

Any other updates from anybody else?

Welcome back nelly.

I’ve been running loads but mostly plodding. My plans to reintroduce speed have been hampered by ice. However I noted on this mornings run that a lot of the ice is melting and so I may get some strides done tomorrow and see how that goes.

Once safe I plan a solo 5k to see where I am and then give myself a target of a solo half to Work towards.

Good to see you back on here Nelly, I could see that you were getting more miles in on the orange place.

Coming to the end of my self inflicted 100 day streak (which is minute compare to Baz's!) which was my motivator to at least do "something". Will probably call it quits tonight when the 100 is up, but will have to find something else to get me out on a wet, cold night. Work is running a step count challenge for wellbeing purposes, so that's helping me to get out for the long runs. Yesterday I did a grand total of 433 steps from 7:30am to 5pm WFH, so I do need a nudge in that direction anyway.

A friend posted his parkrun in Australia last weekend. Jealous.

Lol. My Work did a step challenge and I found that 70 mile weeks were mediocre. Some of the numbers racked up were almost unbelievable.

Yep, I've got my eye on one staff member who clocked 140,000 steps last week. It took me a 17 mile run and a family walk to get to 30,000 in a day, so she must be clocking 12 miles daily at least. Which I don't believe!
