I always feel better after going for a run NordRunner - so not surprised you felt like that. Great that you're still going! Oh the Marcothon - is that still going? Haven't heard of anyone doing that in a few years now. It is a great introduction to streak running. Welcome ptr_runner, hope you can find some inspiration here! |

That reminds me, marcothon. Is it 3 miles or 5k? 'Cos there's a difference!! Tempted to do it this year. Where I currently live there are no 3 mile loops that I can do without dying of boredom, but we are poised to move house and I'll have a whole load of new options available. |

Marcothon - 3 miles or 25 minutes - whichever comes first

roflaherty - Marcothon seems to have a much bigger Facebook presence.

Thanks for the good wishes, again. The hip seems to be getting better but it's odd - I can't do 10-sec sprints because the leg just wants to give way, but I did a 30-min tempo on trails just fine today. Either it's sciatica, which I know little about, or the same old long-term problem. On another note, the run was in about -5C windchill today, which was fine in shorts. Yet I got frozen standing in the streets +1C for xmas lights turn-on. I suppose that's why non-runners think it is daft to run in the cold. If they tried it would feel fine. |

I had quite dense fog yesterday for my run. I also cross over a river. On the other side of the river, the run was just burning off the fog and it was really quite warm! Back over the bridge and the fog on the other side - it was back to brutally cold in a matter of a few steps! Double I've ever experienced your temps Steve!!! |

Brrr Steve, that's why hubby and I moved to the UK - to get away from similar stuff in Canada! I did like running on the snow when I was there one November, but I did bundle up a bit with a windproof Montane.
