Sigh
I'm partway through the 8th book in Louise Penny's 'Inspector Gamache' series, however it has put Monty Python in my mind now:

I didn't expect that ;-)

I posted on Reddit 6 months ago about a book I remembered as a kid. Couldn’t remember either author or title, but did know some details of the plot. Someone has recognised the book from my description and it’s the one I remembered :-)

The Vandal by Ann Schlee, it seems to have won the Guardian prize for Childrens fiction at the time. If you liked the Guardians by John Christopher it’s that sort of thing

I'm reading My Name Is Leon by Kit de Waal and it's much more readable than I thought it would be. I'm braced for heartbreak though :-(

Oscar the Grouch
18 months or so after Maccers-Goohers of this parish reviewed it, I just finished the Reader on the 6.27. I quite liked it for about half of it; I may even have generally quite liked it... but it is a mongrel of a book. I don't know what to make of it. It probably is worth a couple hours of your time (3 max to read it). But your life is probably no poorer if you don't.
