I liked Trunk Music rather more than the rest of the Fetchland Bosch Crew, I think. It’s no Last Coyote but comfortably my second favourite, or third if you include The Poet.

Clarice Lispector is definitely not one for the Bosch Crew. There are lots of words and thoughts but no narrative drive, let alone action. Each section is on slightly connected the the preceding, and the timeline is unspecified. Listening to this audiobook is rather like listening to ambient music: the sound is soothing without having any direction or cohesion. Afterwards you remember nothing of it. It’s not a tune you can hum.

While not selling the book to me in any way, that’s a nice post, Dio. Good work.

Little Nemo
Has anyone read The North Water? I really enjoyed the TV series and I'm thinking of reading the book it's based on.

No, LN, but it's a book I've fancied reading for a while. I keep meaning to catch up with the tv adaptation too.

It was very good, Colin Farrell was a bit of a revelation! I'm going to put the book on my Christmas wishlist :-)
