Haven't watched all of the episode yet, but interesting ending...it will be intriguing to see how they take that character (and the whole show) forward - hopefully in a good way

I liked it a lot, but agree it was muddled. Not sure where we go from here.

I doubt Billie Piper will get a chance to play her Doctor as I think they’re “taking a break” now. It was a fairly innocuous, if hugely expensive, episode which I watched as background to my training.

I thought this as well, and talking with a colleague after Lucky Day a few weeks back, she felt the same. I thought Ruby was the best part of The Reality War. I did try making a post about what I didn’t enjoy about the episode, but it ended up as a lengthy rant, but the short version is - I just think, once again, RTD tried to throw too many concept into the season arc/first part of the finale and just didn’t stick the landing. I had mostly been enjoying this season, and this episode just felt like a real let down. It feels like RTD has lost his way in terms of character writing. I agree that I think the show will be on hiatus for some time now. |

I've just watched the final two episodes. Gosh there was a lot going on there! I quite enjoyed it in a "ripping yarn" sort of way. But yes, a (long) hiatus might be a good idea now... |

It's been a good series overall, best in a while in my opinion, but I do agree with @jennyh that the finale had too much thrown into it, just as it did in the previous series, and again it made no sense. Even by Doctor Who standards ![]() Having read a few of the rumours and fansites I've also come round to the idea that |

Agree with @jennyh that RTD chucked too much Dr lore at the whole two series and then rushed the finish. He has form for this - the Master episodes with John Simm and Tenth Doctor being an aged creature made me really quite annoyed with his forced ending. I had a rant about it at the time and I really don’t want to go and look up the episode title, it made me so cross. I’m sad to see Ncuti go, but not surprised. I think the looser, more emotional Doctor was an interesting direction, but like the shiny aesthetic, it didn’t quite work for me. I like the Doctor’s weirdness and dark side. But that’s one of the great things about the character, you can stretch it in different directions. |

Finally caught up with that last episode and have to agree that it felt a bit as if they had a lot of Disney money left over and they could either use it or lose it. The 2 Ranis/Ronnies line seems to have been controversial, but I smiled at it. Shame as I did like a lot of the other episodes of this series.
