Cheers all, keep 'em coming. I've added a google spreadsheet of the times I'm interpreting for your comments (let me know if I've got any wrong); see the "about this thread" box.

For example, if someone says "I could dip under 6m" then I've gone for 5m59s etc

PB is 5:58 on a track in 2015, so not sure I could knock much of that given advancing years. Maybe down to sub 5:50/ It would be an awful lot of effort for 8 seconds or so.

Would much rather put that time into getting sub-1:30 at HM :-)

I was interviewed on #183 and put myself down for 05:19.

That was based off the fact that I once did mile 1 in a 10k at 05:34.! The way I am today I would struggle to break 06:15 so I'm a long way off my mile prediction time!

How many of us are at a level where six months perfect training would take us to our peak?

Just read the question again not about peak.

In that case providing the injury free part occurs, I shall hopefully answer this question definitively in around six months time :-)

Let's pretend we're being interviewed by Tom Williams or Martin Yelling.

6 months, perfect training, 1 mile on the track - how fast could you go?
