Geordiegirl, Rich's advice on back strengthening exercises is very good. There are a couple of simpler versions of the superman stretch - just lift your arms then lower your arms and lift your legs and repeat. or do alternate arms and legs. The other thing is that doing core work should strengthen the muscles around your front that help support your back. |

Squeezed in a cheeky half hour of planks, side planks, Russian twists and leg raises. After wittering on about Superman stretches yesterday, I thought I'd try it too but my back still isn't strong enough.

thansks Scribbler, I'll give it a whirl. Saw work physio yesterday who's given me some exercises & stretches to do, she said she'll whip me into shape I have a band thing I have to walk sideways across the room keeping it tight crikey did my outer thighs feel THAT last night and some stretches for ITB and one to hopefully in time correct my pelvis as I over arch my back - bloody HM so that with the core the other fizz gave will keep me going and I did a few crunchies too. I will get the DVD back on soon I promise. HappyG great stuff |

Rich - what's a Russian twist? Sounds like a cocktail to me!

Lil - for a Russian twist, you sit on the floor, cross your legs and raise them so you're sitting in a V shape with your core engaged. Then you twist your upper body from one side to the other (with or without a weight). They are a very good tummy workout with a kettlebell. |

The thing with the vodka isn't as good for you. I find Russian twists harder when I have my feet flat on the floor. I'm not quite flexible enough for that. |
