Yeah, thanks Big L!

I take no credit for the Sharkie-by-the-Sea sunflowers. Raffo is the gardener here. All I did was help measure them and suggest putting a rope round them when we had coastal gales.

Raffo said he just chose multiheaded because he wanted lots of flowers. You'd vaguely expect multi headed plants to be shorter but perhaps they have stronger stalks to support more flowers? Anyway we 'are' a bit impressed with their height!

My dad had some cracking multi-headed sunflowers this year. I don't know how tall they got because he'd already cut off the tallest flowers when I saw them to encourage the flowers lower down to develop, but the decapitated stalks were around 9ft.

(I shall be more organised and have a proper go at these next year.)

They are very fine nonetheless Fizz:-) :-)

I've not bothered measuring exactly - sevenish. As ever, highly deficient on leaves compared to everyone else's. I may win latest flowering, though.

indeed :-) except Rule 6 makes me the winner ;-)

Top growing Fizz, not sure which I'm more impressed with, the sunflowers or the fact you have your step ladder propped up against them ;-)

I think we have the same ladder Fizz, as in an identical one - see my pics earlier.
