Computer and wireless technology enables all sorts of exciting new rules to be introduced into football.

Hesitation - aka timewasting - is penalised if half the players on the team are not moving at at least 4 mph. Deviation is when a player changes the direction s/he is running in by more than 90* in ten seconds, and the Repetition law forbids the player to pass the ball to the same other player twice in the space of 160 seconds.

"I'll take 2 from the top row, 3 from the middle, and one from the bottom please, Carol."

"Thank you. That's Mayfair, Razzle, Gardner's World, The Lady, Practical Woodworking, and the Bunty, and your target is a classic Sicilian lemon tart. You have 30 seconds starting on my second whistle."

What happens if you went on the first whistle?

And what about the bloke, whom I can only assume is a mid-1990s raver, that keep whistling to some random electronic music.

I have a Fox40 whistle by the way.

I'll take the left hand door please.

The rest of the car will have to wait until I've saved up enough

Welcome to the Upper Class Twits Games 2020.

In today's match, it's the UK government versus a virus. HMG is expected to have a strong Home advantage. And the whistle blows to start the game; the virus is off to a slow start with just one or two cases, but HMG appears not to have heard the starting signal, and may be waiting for verse 2 of the National Anthem.

Ah, Johnson has scored an own goal. He shook the hands of infected people and became ill. Well, according to the rules of the game, HMG has to miss not one turn, but three weeks' worth of turns.

And indeed, the rest of the Cabinet has done nothing for three weeks now. That's the good old British spirit coming to the fore. Britain can be be proud of itself today.

Own goals count double. No goals always win. Life goals are irrelevant.
