I'm not in the local vicinity to offer suggestions, but has anyone looked at a local stately home - they often have large gardens or parkland that could be used to plot a route. The owners look at other ways to generate income for their property and may be happy to allow a race on their grounds. No problems with traffic, and it's bound to be much cheaper than a race-circuit.

Great idea Mushroom. A lot of the cancer research 10K's are in stately home locations, and have lots of runners, so certainly they have the space to do it.

Bob!
Wasn't there a Fetchie a little while back who started a thread about some friends of hers who had a big house with lots of grounds in East Sussex, and they were considering staging a race?

Nothing at the moment, but it's still very much on the cards. Need to get a few things in place, and then we're good to go I think.

I'll help on the day if it is somewhere I can easily get to on public transport with William. Ideally, something that the children could help me with e.g. medals, water...
