Feb 2008 2:29pm, 7 Feb 2008 3,443 posts	sorry if this is too far off to one side but....if we weren't doing a set distance event and there were no PB's to be had, time chips to organize etc., how about a wacky obstacle course style 'it's a knock' kinda race, maybe with teams etc. just a thought.

fetcheveryone Feb 2008 3:02pm, 7 Feb 2008 2,186 posts	fetcheveryone I've just done a very approximate quote for insurance from www.events-insurance.co.uk, and based on an event for up to 1000 people on a closed race track, the quote covers: Public Liability for £1 million Employers Liability for £5 million (to cover stewards etc) Event Equipment for £10,000 (tents, gantrys, PA systems I guess...) Cancellation, Abandonment, Postponement £2,500 The premium is £490. If we stick with our estimate of 500 competitors, that's about a pound each - plus if we happen to get FERC EA affiliated, I think we get some sort of insurance cover with that anyhow. Point is... it's not an excessive cost for the numbers we're looking at - and that's just a single quote (and there are Fetchies out there who know a shedload more than me about insurance).

Marathon Lads Feb 2008 3:05pm, 7 Feb 2008 1,719 posts	Marathon Lads Hi all at the moment, i don't know anything, were, when, how etc i'm at a point in life, i just don't care as much, i don't think some people realise what running marathons means to me, certainly not FLM chiefs i was full of everything up until 2 years ago, and last year, and since FLM chiefs have rejected us, it's totally broken me, amd made me totally sick FLM was our dream everyone can apply, and after 5 refusals they get in ...We cannot get in full stop i got told yesterday Bristol HM won't have us , reason... were too quick ! I've given my Phillip everything i can humanely possibly do , i have no more to offer I would just like to get my website up to date, to keep inspiring people in and out of the running world, and US also and put a donate button on it, so as anyone , who reads our website inside OR outside running world can if they wish sponcer us a little , to help keep us on the road myself, my wife nor Phillip will never ever be able to work, we find it difficult enough just coping with life
