You lot are funny

Took my new cx bike around some of the new blue at Cannock last night.

First offroad ride since Kielder.

Rather you than me doing Cannock on a CX bike, from what I remember of it last time I was there I was absolutely battered but the time I'd finished on my MTB!

Definitely cross weather now though, just fitted some mud tyres to mine after this weeks downpours :-(

Ah, I'm guessing it's not too bad on the gravel tyres.

I've done bits of the trails in the Surrey Hills on the CX bike with 33c tyres and the rooty sections are hellish.

There's some real comedy value in passing the cool kids on their full sus MTB's complete with full face helmets and downhill pyjamas when you're on a skinny tyre shod CX bike in full lycra. Makes the pain worthwhile!

I used to LOVE doing that gt...
Best was beating the uplift truck to the top of Bikepark Wales, on a fully rigid 29er with skinny tyres, then beat them on the descent as well...

Can't beat a bit of baiting on the bike.

I used to do most of my riding on a rigid single speed 29er, it weighed next to nothing and was insanely fast up the climbs. In fact I think I was faster going up on that than I was on the geared bike.

Oh, to be that fit again...

Life getting in the way :-(

But now the house move is done, work has calmed down a bit and I've got some motivation I'll be trying to get back to something like previous levels.

I can't do it any more either. Crocked by Lyme disease. The e-bike rides like a lump of concrete, not something to attempt a gap.jump on :) but at least it gets me out without the necessity of lengthy hours of training I have no time for :)

Gravel also welcome :)

Also, is 26 dead yet?
