Nice but never straight. Mind, Orange are the same.

What’s suddenly wrong with your old bike, oh Buzzy One?

Trawden to Barlick today on the PBW. Quite shitty in places. One of the more agricultural under tyre parts of the route.

eL Bee!
Nothing is wrong with it Steppy.
It's just older than my children, and has Children-sized wheels and Fisher Price brakes ;)

And my old bones grumble slightly at being shaken about quite so much with 80mm of 'boing' at the front and none at the rear

And it still has the original wheels on it, which I daren't service in case the ball bearing dust all falls out ;)

I think you’ve had more than your money’s worth out of it, Buzzy one.

Nice Bike Bee.

I fear it'll be running out of decent 26" tyres that'll do for my wheels :(

I have the same fear.
Although once everybody has a big-wheeled bike the companies will need to rejuvenate sales. Just wait for the flood of magazine articles about the ‘new-found’ benefits of 26”...

Cynical? Moi?!

In other news, we were excited to discover that MrsC has owned a “gravel bike” for a decade or more. We just didn’t realise what it was or how achingly cool she’s been all this time. 🤣

Nah, it'll be 28.25" next.
It's the perfect sweetspot between 27.5 and 29

The Troll can run 26+ which is 27.5 with a normal tyre. It will be lack of decent tyres that will be an issue. Half the world is still on 26 but not quality tyres. Thankfully I have a small store to get though yet.

And then we start putting 27.5 on bikes that traditionally took 29/700c. Makes you realise what a load of bollocking nonsense it all is.

About This Thread

Since the last appearance of Kaph, some time ago... there are now three wheel sizes, and now new plus (+) tyres for the even more adventurous!

26 / 27.5 (650b) / 29 / 27.5+ (650b+) / 29+ / fat
whatever you ride, enjoy it :)

Gravel also welcome :)

Also, is 26 dead yet?
