What do you understand? What's a 3-2 count, for example? What's the difference between a fly-out, a ground-out, a pop-out, a foul-out, a force-out and a chase-down? What does GIDP mean? Or ERA, or WHIP, or RBI? When can you run on a pitch? When the ball is hit, when the ball hits the ground, or when the ball is caught? Why do you have to tag-back? Can you be out on a foul-ball with three balls against the pitcher?
If you think it's "hit the ball as hard as you can then run around the bases" you're a very silly lion.

I understand Australian Rules football. Someone throws a ball onto the pitch then everyone has a fight.

*100 miles removed for disparaging baseball comments, suspended until Dec 31 2008.
On a personal note, after running my biggest mileage week of the year (34) and my biggest mileage weekend of all time (21.75) i am therefore delighted to drop a pace in the table. Damn You! Damn You All!!
Still, another big mileage week planned for me this week before tapering for a PB-potential 10k and then me hols, yey!
Sorry I didn't do the monthly update, thought I'd do the Monday update nice 'n' early to make up for it.
Glad to see most of us are now under the 1000 miles to go limit, which is about where you should be.
Keep it up!
