There's a new feature on user profiles, where you can answer five questions about yourself.

Here's where you can fill out your answers:

fetcheveryone.com/user-questions.php

(once you answer one, the link will appear on your profile. It's also visible on anyone elses profile who has answered some questions.)

So what has everyone put on theirs so far? (I know I could just click on your profile, but easier if you copy and paste it in here for me to peruse!)

Describe your ideal run, ride or swim.

I like to run in the off road. Hills, remote places, or country lanes, or the beach. And while I'll happily do runs by myself, it's more fun with friends, isn't it? Fresh air, pretty scenery, exploring new places with friends old or new. :-)

What's the biggest challenge that awaits you?

I've been running for 10 years, so I've done the main challenges that I had: sub 3 marathon; West Highland Way, which is the premier ultra up here in Scotland. I'm hoping to do Boston Marathon 2019 for my 50th. Big challenge is the cost! :-)

What's your favourite thing about Fetcheveryone?

Oh, where to start? Great community of inspiring people. Possibly one of the most consistently helpful and supportive groups ever. Irreverent but often smart and knowledgeable too. The tools, stats, race directory etc. are pretty brilliant too. :-)

How do you pick yourself up when you need to?

Cake. Chocolate! cayke and *chocolate* Seriously, just try and remember how lucky I am, loving family and friends, general health and well being. Others with far greater obstacles, battling daily, still smiling. I never lose mojo for running. :-)

What’s the best bit of advice that you would give to new runners, bikers and swimmers?

Slow down! Seriously, even if your goal is to get quicker, start slower. You can build up volume and speed more effectively if you don't get injured all the time. Build up gradually. Take breaks. But do build. And believe! Great times await! :-)

Here are mine:

Describe your ideal run, ride or swim.

It's more of a feeling I get sometimes. Imperceptible downhill on a long straight stretch of warm tarmac, arms and legs in perfect perpetual motion. Usually lasts a couple of minutes before a carful of youths drive past.

What's the biggest challenge that awaits you?

In running terms, it's got to be Abingdon this October. I'm not sure I've done justice to mara distance in the past, so I'd like a good time. Other than that, piloting the Fetch Falcon safely.

What's your favourite thing about Fetcheveryone?

Where to start! Probably the freedom to follow my gut, and to be happy in work; but also the flexibility to have more time with my lovely wife and my boy than I would otherwise have had. Ditto for the chance to run in daylight!

How do you pick yourself up when you need to?

I remind myself that I am very lucky to be able to walk (I had spina bifida myelomeningocele at birth). I've had a lifetime of opportunity because of that. I also have a job that doesn't make Monday a bad day, and a family that love me.

What’s the best bit of advice that you would give to new runners, bikers and swimmers?

Decent kit is nice, a GPS will give you loads of fun stuff to analyse, but the most important thing you need is habit. When getting out there with a smile on your face becomes part of your life, you can think about time and distance goals.

Describe your ideal run, ride or swim.
Ideal swim - a near empty, clear, blue, lake with sun shining. (Not ideal in safety terms, I know, but so peaceful).
Ideal run - early morning in de Malpie in summer, before the bugs are out, the mist still lingers over the water, and nothing hurts.

What's the biggest challenge that awaits you?
Some fool convinced me to go for a full Ironman in Tenby next year.

What's your favourite thing about Fetcheveryone?
The people.

How do you pick yourself up when you need to?
A good hot bath, a cold glass of white wine, and a book, is always a win.

What’s the best bit of advice that you would give to new runners, bikers and swimmers?
Stick with it, it (almost always) gets better, and even becomes enjoyable when you realise your body can Do The Things it couldn't before.

• Open countryside or woods, views, wildlife, time to stop for a photo and able to do it again the next day and the next ...

• Keeping fit enough to keep going - achilles being the main risk. Investigated surgery a few years back - but advised it was only 60 - 70% chance of fix, and 3 - 4 months in a fixed boot ... so far managing with monthly physio and living with it.

• Only 250 chars?
Firstly the logs - whether walking, running or cycling - and the maps and the times/elevations/splits etc et
Next - Fetch is online, never more than a few hours away and responds to all/any comments or requests
And the blogs/forums

• To be honest, I very rarely need to, having an optimistic outlook. But generally focus on things that I can do something about. If I can't influence something, then why worry about it.

• Firstly - make sure you enjoy it.
Secondly - listen to all the advice you can get, but then make up your own mind as to what makes sense for you.
