Anyone doing this one this year? I am - first marathon for 10 years. Bit daunted at the moment, did 18.25 miles last weekend ok, but another 8 sounds a long way. Anyone who has done it like to comment on the hilliness? Assumed it would be flat as on visits to Taunton it hasn't seemed overly mountainous, but the course profile looks a little bumpier than I was expecting! |

Hi, exciting times! Im not doing it,but train on that route, it is little up and down, but not bad, kinda makes course interesting. Only hill thats bit bigger than rest is Rumwell hill, just as you come into Taunton, but all down after that. Have a good one!

Thanks for that James - I assume that hill is the one at about 11 and 23 miles! I suppose it will be a nice finish - if I manage to get up it!

Cheers. That's good to know - I don't think I'll be kicking on anything by that stage!

Gentle bimble out for me before VLM the week after. Taunton is always a good event and we need to look after our long standing UK road marathons with the recent demise of Moray and New Forest.

Looking forward to this, having done it in 2009. The second lap can be a bit lonely, as most runners are there for the Half, but it's a nice event. And, as paul points out, how fantastic that an ordinary county town with a population of 60,000 can continue to stage a quality local event when so many others have given up. (My first ever marathon was Exeter in 1983 and Bristol seems no nearer to staging a full marathon than it did when the idea of a revival was announced a couple of years ago, so all credit to Taunton!) |

Hi there! Just wondering if anyone has, or knows anyone who has a place for this that they can't use?

Like jasond, I'm be interested if anybody has an entry to Taunton they can't use. Transfers are allowed. I'm happy to pay face value for an entry. |
