For a while now, we've been planning to put together some pages for swimmers. There are little bits of swimming content all around the site - but if you don't know your way around, it can be pretty daunting I guess. This week I've been working on a page that brings it all together. It's *NOT* finished yet (there are big holes, as you can see), but I figure most of you are used to that - and it's always useful to get input and suggestions. Being able to look at something can often trigger suggestions too. With all that in mind, here's something for you to look at: fetcheveryone.com/training-swim.php Let me know what you think of what's already there, and what else could go there. Ta ![]() |

Thanks, Ian! Always improving the site. My suggestion would be on training log to include "water" as a possible surface. It would also be nice to have a few more swim training categories to choose from. |

Liking it so far! I'm glad that reviews of equipment will have a slot of its own - there are so many things you can spend money on when swimming (just like running and cycling ;-)) that it would be good to know if they're worth it or not.

SwimRun is an up and coming race format - Breca and Otillo are the two main event organisers .... it's a multisport event like triathlon or duathlon except it's swimming and running - lakes/sea and off-road running ![]() Another whole new world of lovely kit there to acquire - from SR specific wetsuits, trail shoes (you run and swim in yr wetsuit/shoes - no transition), best way to tether during swims, best pull buoy to use etc etc Would be good to list SwimRun as a race type when adding events, and I guess SwimRun kit/equipment too. |

Thanks Capricorn. There's already a category on the 'add an event' page for that - it's called 'Aquathlon' - which I went with because our local swim+run is referred to as such. But I've also heard via Katie that there are events where there are *multiple* swims and *multiple* runs - something to do with Norwegian fjords I think? ![]() |

Ötillö and other such SwimRun events aren’t Aquathlons. Different animal altogether. Definitely deserve a race category of their own. Like the CSS calculator. Nice and easy to find. This is something I use every 6-8 weeks (or aspire to, at least ;)) so it’s no vector have it somewhere easy to find. |

Bloody autocorrect. Not even sure what I meant to put instead of ‘no vector’.......
