Anyone there? Anyone? Last night I got back in the pool for the first time since 11/6 when I pulled/strained an intercostal muscle. Got through 1k without any pain and so I'm announcing my return. How's everyone else been getting on with the 52 mile challenge? |

Hey Nellers! I’ve only swam once since 3/6 and it was a truly pathetic sight. Wheezy, broken old man crawling his way up and down 30 lengths. Felt like a total beginner! So to answer your question: terribly. Part of the problem is the way the school holidays throw my routines through the window. Back to normal in a week and a half. |

No apart from 30 min on holiday! Feel bad about it as got out the habit. Really enjoy when I have done it. Will get back to it soon. |

Generally the weather's been this: hot So I've been down to the local lake to cool off quite a bit lately, I am somewhat ahead of target. I'm thinking though, that all this open water swimming is making me forget about technique and at some point I'm going to have to get back in a pool and concentrate on what the heck I'm actually doing, rather than just having a nice swim |

Thanks for the kick up the backside! Went swimming this morning 1200m for me. Enjoyed it. Now to get back into the habit. |

Back to it and 1650 metres this morning so back to the "not losing ground" plan. Still up on the target fromt eh big glut of swimming I've done since the Achilles issue became.....you know, an issue.

I spent some time last night sketching out a vague plan to get me back into the pool. It’s a start.

Does the plan involve driving to the pool with your kit in a bag? 2k done in a fairly quiet lane this morning. Just me, the preggers lady and the breaststroke pensioner. All very polite and civilised. |
