Went well, thanks. Teacher was quite receptive to our PoV. And yes, it doesn't have to be as it was before.

Nice to have a positive school meeting Linds. I got a message this morning from the person QP is doing his placement with (she’s a friend) asking for his number as he hadn’t turned up. I think he was just running late but it’s only his second week 🤦♀️ |

LindsD, without doubt, you will now be able to make a more cogent case. As for the school, a supertanker turning springs to mind.

Glad it went well Linds Those of you with older teens/ those of you who work in unis- how important are EPQs? SweetPea has been asked if she'd like to do one. She likes the idea and has some topics in mind, but she's also worried about the extra workload |

It might depend a bit what she wants to apply for. If it’s something competitive or at a Russell Group it can be an idea to add different things to the cv to make it different from others, and shows independent working. But different unis/courses will assess it differently. Mine didn’t have the option but one did DofE Bronze and the other had high level dance exams. |

Meg is right. For us, it's not an issue because we don't really have a scrum for places.

Agree with Meglet, it's probably a "nice to have" thing. It's a good way to prove that they're really interested in a topic, especially if their planned degree isn't an A-level subject.

Thanks all. She's thinking of something along the lines of the application of physics in music or theatre, and wants to study physics.
