That's a good effort, Fitzer. Have a rest, put it into perspective, figure out what if anything went wrong, fix it and then cane it next time out. Loads more races to come and you have lots of running in your legs.

Unlucky Fitzer, at least you know you're in good form for next time.

hello all *waves* I've been reading this thread though not contributing. anyway my race which was to be my officil sub-50 attempt for the year is on sunday so just thought I would say hello. unfortunately due to illness and exams, my training has taken a significant dent, so I'm not feeling very hopeful- in fact, I'm really just concentrating on beating my PB (51:43) now I think...

I have every confidence in you getting a PB, CS, even if not sub-50 this time (and you never know....) :)

If not this time, then you have improved so much in recent months that I'm sure sub-50 is well within your grasp in the near future :)

There are lots of 10ks around, C-S. Have a go at your PB on Sunday and make sure you enter another to go sub-50. You can do it.

good luck crooked-smile and fitzer. I'm sure you'll slice off these seconds off your PBs to go sub-50 in one of your next attempts. You are so close now.

That was my plan too CS. I got 50.10 in my last one ..... so just 11 secs to do away with in my race in June! Good luck :-)

Well today I learned what happens when you get a race completely wrong. Went off far too fast, and just blew up. Only just got under 55. Way outside my PB never mind close to 50. Safe to say I'm gutted, burst into tears at the finish line for all the wrong reasons!

Lots more races, C-S. Look for the positives. You had the courage to really go for it and that takes a lot. Next time out, you'll have a better idea of pacing. In between now and then you have a chance for a bit more training to give yourself an ever better chance of smashing your PB into teeny-tiny pieces. Dry your eyes, have a consolatory cake and put your feet up on the sofa for the afternoon having raced your heart out this morning. You'll bounce back in no time.
