Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

My 5km pb was just under 24 minutes when I got my sub 50.

took PB down to 52.17 today at Lincoln 10k. Didn't push it as still recovering from hip flexor but felt steady all the way around. 11 weeks until Woodhall so watch this space.

Nice going Zeb! That's about where my PB was last year. I'm still treating my plantar fascia with kid gloves so my next 10k attempt could quite possible be a deliberate PW. Right now, I'll just be happy to be able to run the distance ;-)

My current 10k PB is from February 2011, 50:25 min but I got a 23.04 PB in the Easter 5k run today. I think I should be able to break the 50 min in the next 10k, although the first mile is a massive climb of 365ft, but it's mainly downhill from there. If I manage to limit the 'damage' on the first mile I hope I can pull through.

Take it easy for a mile and sprint for the last five - top plan :-)

Sounds like a good plan. :D I'll let you know how it went. The race is in in a month's time on 9 May so I still have some time to prepare for that hill.

Yes easy first mile like everyone sprint ahead, then you can overtake them over the last 5.2 miles, but it looks good based on your 5km time even with the hill. What was your 5k route like

My coach has given me 2 x 10k with 10 minutes recovery to do this week. I asked him what pace I should aim for and he came back to me with HM pace, 45:00-46:00 per rep. I haven't pointed out to him yet that that's a lot quicker than my 10k PB and beyond my current HM PB pace.

*gulp*

I think he was a little carried away by my mile pace on Saturday night.
