That's brilliant, F4rley! I dream of sub 48 Did you do it by arseing (how should I be spelling that?) around or did you actually run with tactics? ![]() |

Hello everyone - and well done with your sub-50s! I am aiming to get a sub 45 10km, but I couldn;t find a thread for it so I thought I would join this one - I hope that's ok with everyone. I've done a few 10kms, my PB is 48:44 on a flat course, Blackpool Beach 10km in May last year and more recently I got 49:30, Boggart Chase 10km in September - very hilly course so was pleased with it. I ran these races with negative splits, definitely the way to go. I am doing the Chernobyl 10km end of this month so I am looking forward to that and may even get a PB! Happy running! ![]() |

Hi Jonesy - there's one here http://www.fetcheveryone.com/viewtopic.php?id=44514 , but it's been a bit quiet recently.

Hi Jonesy, your talk of a fast flat Blackpool based 10k has got e thinking I could spread my net a little wider than the North East to target a sub 50 next year. My family are Blackpool based, so it's a possibility. Would you recommend it as a properly measured but fast course?

Hi Sprouty - thanks for that, I will see if it picks up a bit, otherwise I will hang around here and use my skills to move others to break on through to the other side of the sub-50 10km space-time barrier... Hi Scribbler - yes, it was totally flat and on the sands at low tide, it was properly measured, I followed a series of markers along the beach (a bit like cross country) to Lytham St Annes and back, there were no km markers but an out and back course made it easy to negative split. Only about 100 runners turned up, a small but enjoyable race, beautiful scenery, fyldecoastrunning.com only thing i will say is running on sand was hard work and will have slowed me down and coming back I was running against a strong wind coming off the Irish Sea. A lot will depend on weather on the day. Fylde coast running do some other races too that might be worth checking out ![]() |
