Count me it too please. I'd like to think I can achieve this at some point. I'm mainly concentrating on 5k's at the moment as I too want a sub 20 but I will be doing a few 10ks along the way.

No. I did the half and the 10k there a few years back and I'm not keen on the course. I have a 10k coming up on Monday in Gloucester.

I love the course but is my stamping ground and know it like the back of my hand so may make a difference.

So is sub 42 the target for Monday?

No I'm a fair bit off sub 42 pace just yet. The last 10k I did in March was 7:03 pace and that was hillier than I think this one will be so I may shave a little off but not a lot

Depending on how training goes, FR, I might try that too.

Been a bit off form and miserable about running lately. Mahoosive race nerve issues have been bugging me too. So, I was quite pleased to run Breckland 10k in 44:05, during which I just wanted to enjoy, run hard but within myself and remember that racing can be fun.

Feeling much happier after that one and back in love with this daft sport. :)

so do we think that sub 20 is needed for this? or vice versa? Both feel a bit of a big ask. I like AlanR's plan, well, like is a bit of a strong word. Need to find a 10k before mid July that's nice and flat.

I'm feeling far from fast though. Parkrun on Saturday lined up, but I'm still a bit in recovery from a long race on Sunday, so while I'll go at it I'm not sure how speedy I'll be.

what are your taregt races?

I may hang around in hope too, not sure how close to my 43:58 I could get to right now but getting faster over short distances is the focus for summer, with a view to improving my 1:35:02 1/2 time in autumn.

6:45s though eh? Crikers. I'm going to have a look at that training plan you posted.
