Thanks all. Definitely pleased with the time, given the conditions. There was a lot of carnage out there and I really had no idea how it was going to end up.

24km today in oddly warm and sunny conditions (though not the extraordinary temps some have seen). Not exactly cruising along but better than this stage in some previous years!

Sounds like a good place to be jda. Another twenty for me this morning. Much harder work mentally and physically than it should have been. Not sure if some new meds are at least partly to blame. I'd probably have called it quits early and gone for it again later in the week but I'm having a steroid injection in my knee tomorrow so no running for a week.

A slow parkrun on Saturday but according to runbritainrankings it was a very slow day for everyone, so that's ok. And on Sunday I eked out my long run another few hundred metres on a lovely sunny morning.

Hope you're recovering well from your injection LMH.

Signs are good so far jda - am allowed to try a run tomorrow. Hoping the weather improves! Need to decide when to have the other one done, could have it a week tomorrow but then that will mean another week off and therefore three weeks without a decent run (am to build up slowly this week) so I'm currently thinking two weeks tomorrow in the hope I can get a LSR done in week two.

Certainly looks like you're heading in the right direction Bowman, welcome to the thread. Have you a particular marathon in mind?

Thanks jda, yes if i keep up the training as i have done, and keep increasing the mileage, it's doable, it just takes time. Time on the legs.

I have loosely thought about doing copenhagen marathon in the spring, and then my local ish VaxjΓΆ marathon in the fall, and if the training year goes well during the season, maybe i'll get the sub 3h late next year.
I need mileage and consistency.
