Weird year eh Baz? I do feel better for having it done it though it's also made me want to get an official score on the door more.

Yeah, it was different. I am a bit annoyed I didnt go under 3:15, but to be honest when I turned into the wind I knew it was going to be pretty tough. However apart from my first marathon in 2006 I have run under 3:21 every year so I did at least keep that record going and 3:18 is a time I havent run so another one marked off the bingo card ! |

Give your adventures lee I’d say that was a great time. Well done baz and lmh for getting out and doing the distance. I’d forgotten how tough a marathon gets near the end. Just scraped a sub 2.40 (2.39.44) but definitely did it the hard way. Lots to reflect on but I can now retire as a content marathon runner |

The last 5K always hurts if you’re doing it properly Not sure I’ll see Sub-3 again, but I’m still lurking here! I managed a 3:54:28 to claim my Manchester T-Shirt this morning. Wasn’t planning to do it today, but got fired up reading all the forum posts last night and then found the weather was OK when I woke up. |

That’s great going for all of you. Completing a solo marathon is no mean feat and I bet Chris didn’t have a lot of company either. A sunny breezy 10 miles for me. Someone asked if I was doing the marathon and I wasn’t quick-witted enough to claim undeserved kudos for it |

Very comfortable 3:56 for me pacing some others round - good news is 2-3 first sub fours in my bubble

Top running everyone! I had a nice run, 2:48:34 (Fetch) or 2:48:40 (stra va) for the marathon distance...I stuck a bit on the end to be sure I got the distance. Slight negative split as well despite fading a bit in the last 5 miles. First 6 I was cruising at around 6:30 pace, picked it up a little through halfway, kept going nicely to about 21 before it started getting hard. Didn't really run with anyone after the first 6 but usually had people nearby as I added chunks on to keep near people. Shame it won't count as a PB but something to aim for in my next marathon proper |

That’s a cracking solo time brunski and on less than ideal training. I don’t know how you kept your head. Definitely on course for a big pb next year! Jda, I had some company for the first 16 then one person dropped off and the other pushed on so it was a lonely last 10. I was overtaking some slower runners but that made it difficult for me to judge my pace. A group would have made it much easier |
