Took almost a full minute off my previous time which I'm quite pleased with...just outside 40 mins but that's well within sight for next time! It's a bit short of a full 10k course but quite tough so that's a respectable effort for me.

Wow skr, you’ve kept yourself in good shape. You’d hope to shave a few more seconds Off in a race too so brilliant! I’ve got a 5k tomorrow and doubt I’ll break 17.30 Good luck with the 10k jda |

Never really thought of myself as a hayfever sufferer but wow....after today's run I'm a mess. I did notice a tractor turning cut grass in one of the fields and I suppose I was also breathing harder than usual. Only supposed to be a medium day for pollen...maybe I'm getting worse in my dotage. Perhaps masks aren't such a bad idea after all |

That looks like a cool idea. Obviously not the same thing as a proper marathon at all, but a nice idea under the circumstances and it could make a useful goal over the summer. If I was local I'd probably try to do one of the shorter courses in a minirace with a couple of similarly-paced clubmates. I'm off for another go at the local MapRunF 10k if this little rain shower rain stops. In other news, our club is starting up training runs - max of 6 per session, all very careful to remain 2m apart etc. Which I think is great news, not that club running is the highest priority in the world right now but it's good to be a bit closer to normality while staying safe IMO. |

That's similar to what we have been doing at our club jda, but morenoff our own backs. Been meeting in groups of 6 and doing some effort based sessions on a mon and wed and then a longer run on a sunday. Just a bit of routine and normality. I have heard on the grapevine though (most likely just gossip than actuality) that england athletics is preparing for allowing training of groups up to 100 in a few weeks. (Dependant on 2m rule going to 1m). But obviously thats highly dependant on government guidelines, unless they are more aware of the government plans than we are. |
