It's what's known in the trade as an aspirational target. I only need to find a minute per mile - it can't be that hard, surely?!

I don't think its out of reach for you, SVRunner. Distance, consistency, and most importantly: don't get injured!

If it wasn't hard, bish, would it be an achievement? ;-)

after a disasterous year last year running wise here I am at the start of another year and the start of my training plan considering 3 half marathons in March, April and May. All depends on staying injury free which didn't happen last year.
Hopefully new shoes will help (they normally do lol), some Addidas Ultraboost 20's

anyone else considering this target, and looking for some mutual encouragement?

Would love to get back to sub-2, but haven't yet decided whether to try this year. Am thinking my half marathon days might be behind me! (Always happy to cheer others on though!).

Good luck again this year, SVrunner :-)

Personally, running a 10K is aspirational currently. I'd like to get back to HM distance (without in any way targeting sub-2 currently) but I have a recurrent ankle/tendon problem when upping the distance. A gradual approach, and not just running a parkrun of a week, might be required.

"Can be reasonably confident of sub-2 on a good day but may never see sub-1:50 again" is where I'm at. Got one on the board on 2nd January, 1:57:22.
