Just curious to know if anyone has ever suffered from a Stress response in the thigh bone.

My girlfriend has been out for 5 months due to a stress response ( Stages before a stress fracture ) to her left thigh bone and considering she has not done any impact work now for most of that time it does not seem to be any better. Two MRI scans have shown its presence and no one seems to know how long it will take or when to try some form of running. It seems like a broken leg would heal quicker than this frustrating injury.

Any advice would be much appriciated.
