Another classic design that happens to be better than Great Manchester Run yet again!

Can't wait to see the photos (including some of me in my stupid hat).

Really enjoyed the race on Sunday, never run it before so wasnt pleased to see the hill after 5miles continue on after we turned into the housing estate. In general, fairly happy as I had some juice in my legs at the end and felt good going up the final hill into the park.

Hehe yes that is the classic Stockport 10 experience. Just as you think you're not doing to bad and reached the top of the hill in good shape ... you go round the corner and ... a little bonus hill ;).

I've done cross country, fell races, Cloud 9 (huge ascent up Bosley Cloud), Nick Beer 10k (up The Great Orme) Snowdonia Marathon (includes a 2 mile steep hill at mile 23)... but that hill in the estate (mile 6 ish) is one of the most intimidating sights I have ever seen. It's not the toughest hill it's just the dread you feel when you see runners snaking up that hill.

Never ceases to shock me.

NZ road seemed a bit flatter this year. By 2020 it will e horizontal.

Yeah like BVR says I'm not phased by NZ Rd which is just a steady climb where you can hold a reasonable pace and you know that the park is just round the corner. But the estate hill was particularly trying this year, after slipping back on the ice with every step forward I felt like I'd run it twice.

BVR - really enjoyed your post about "that hill" - i'll never forget the first year that i ran it, its the closest ive ever come to giving up in a race. It wasnt that it was steep but the sense of unjustice about it being where it was left me a broken man - im not sure ive ever recovered !!

PS - are you still injury free and what time did you do ?
pps - does anyone have a link to photos ?
