I can see my own details...avge pace over last 12 weeks is about 8:28mm and I ran a 3:12 mararthon and a 1:26 half Go back 12 months and for 8:18mm I ran 3:00:27 and 1:23:59 |

What would you expect to see as the distribution of VO2 Max? I completely accept that the estimation the watches do is highly unlikely to be particularly accurate.

According to that Garmin data, over 40% of Garmin users run less than 1 mile per week too. Is it sound data to be drawing average pace conclusions from?

Try this calculator, predicts how fast you CAN run depending on your VO2max, age, gender. Assuming that you are also at your peak fitness. runningforfitness.org It said 22minutes for me... which is hilarious. Or I thought it was, but I've been steadily improving at 2 mile time trials for last 6 months, now down to under 16 minutes. Suddenly 22 minutes for 5km doesn't seem so crazy. (Wow emoji here) |
