Anyone watching Star Trek: Picard?
What an amazing episode the most recent one was!
Also thoughts on the merits of recent Trek: Discovery? Short Treks? Picard? And the new upcoming series..

STP is good. STD is pretty bad. Haven't seen Short Treks as not on Netflix/Amazon etc.

"new" films watchable but ruined the continuity.

Is the new series a spin off Disco? If so I'm not enthused.

I thought Disco started off well and the first series was pretty good - until the last two eps which were rubbish. the second series was very 'meh'.

rf_fozzy they're a mix...

a Section 31 series with Michelle Yeoh starring (Georgiou in DISCO so yeh a spin off)
an animated series called lower decks from the guy who created Rick and Morty
and another animated series more for kids done in collab with nickleodeon
there is talk of a commander pike spin-off series too as the character was very popular in series 2 of DISCO
DISCO itself has been reportedly extended until season 5 at least so it looks like there will be a lot of Trek going around for a while...

Also the first "series" of short treks are available on Netflix, in the 'trailers and more' section of Discovery, I particularly like Calypso and the Brightest Star..

I like the way Picard throws references to the past ST franchise such as Quark's name being used when they went to the bar and Huw being used.
