Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

If you didn't know, BigChiefRunningBore and I are getting married in May. Hoorah!

Sadly, we can't invite everyone to the wedding so we thought we'd take over a Parkrun for a Stags vs Hens race at 9am on Saturday 5th May and invite as many people as would like to turn up to run with us.

We're not quite sure which would be the best park run to choose from, we need it to be as convenient as possible for as many as possible, so probably somewhere south London given the stags and hens already lined up. Brockwell Park could work, near Herne Hill railway station and Brixton tube, but there's time for debate and polls and fallings out and makings up.

Led by Chief and DaveB, the stags will (optionally) be in drag. Dave has promised to wear a garter. Contro will be doing a progressive run as he arrives through Brixton in a dress and compression socks.

No doubt this will be followed by breakfast somewhere nearby. Maybe even champagne and cake at the finish line if we get organised.

Who's in?

*realises it clashes with the Marathon of The North*

*sticks out bottom lip*
I can't believe DaveB isn't doing the Marathon of the North in his Newcastle kit :-p

Anyhoo - if for any reason we don't go up to Sunderland until later on Saturday afternoon we'll be there, but it is most unlikely :-(

It's a new one starting and I think finishing in the Stadium of Light (Sunderland's football ground) It's organised by Steve Cram. El Capitan is very excited about doing the inaugural marathon in his home town.

Trust me - making Dave do it in his Newcastle kit would be funnier than him doing parkrun in drag (just) and he'd be quids in for a new PB too!

Am a maybe at the moment. As going on holiday that afternoon and 'supposed' to be at an OU tutorial in Aldwych 10:30-2:30 and 'needing' to do a long run before going on holiday, the only way I can do it is by running there (ideally not via Brixton with contro in socks and dress!).

Probably might end up missing the OU thing, esp if there turns out to be champagne...
