Sports review of the year indeed! I remember seeing Schumacher taking Damon Hill out for the first time on that show.

I just wonder how many times Mo would have won if he had been Caucasian and from Clydebank?

Alastair Brownlee seems to agree with your thought process FR, though I am reading between the lines a little theguardian.com |

I thought when I saw Mo was abroad that he'd shot himself in the foot. I was still surprised that he was so poorly placed. Competition this year was particularly tough I though. FWIW I don't think past winners should be nominated against unless they have done something substantially different in a different arena. |

Murray was abroad too, but to be honest he was always going to win it. Definitely not right that Mo was beaten by a old toff on a horse though!

On a slightly different note I was looking at the athletes who sadly left us in the last year it listed a chess grand champion, didn't realise chess was regarded as a sport tbh. Yuri Yeliyesev. bbc.co.uk |

Agree on that, give it to the horse if anything, not the wally who sits on it and steers.... |

No Farah hasn't finished top three since 2011 which seems ridiculous. Maybe it seems too easy for him though. I said somewhere else he doesn't have a rival(s), and no outdoor world records either.

Re Mo, fairly sure he'll get it next year if he doubles again at the World Athletics champs in London. Fairly quiet sporting year, probably the biggest thing will be the Athletics champs, and no Jess to get more votes from that. |
