You know, it's interesting... at a macro level potatoes - which are nightshades of course - score quite highly on the Inflammation index. I have to follow a very particular diet and potatoes are * just *within tolerance

It's highly subjective Steve. It's your inflammatory response to a given foodstuff, however enough data has been gathered to point to certain foods that have a higher inflammatory response than others when averaged out.

Interestingly, very few people have a high Inflammatory response to meat. I guess that goes back to our hunter-gatherer origins.
