Not sure whether this counts as race talk, but couldn't find anywhere better to put it.

So... are any fetchies going to be taking part in the "Speed Of Light" event in Edinburgh? I'm down for the 24th August, early session.

It certainly looks as if it's going to be something a bit... different? Running around for a few hours in a light suit!

Hi hamacting,

I'll be running it on the 19th, and am a walk leader most other nights. You'll find that a fair few Fetchies are run leaders, too. :-)

Have you been to any of the training sessions yet? And have you seen the 'trailer' vimeo.com and the training video for runners http://vimeo.com/43671966?

I'm doing it tonight. really looking forward to it. Didn't make any of the preview/practise sessions but I have watched the video. I'm looking forward to saying, when I ran as part of the olympics...........well, it is part of the olympic cultural festival.

Running it on Saturday night. Already been to one of the training sessions and ran the tech rehearsal last weekend. It's a hoot.

Was thinking of signing up to the reserve list, as I'm in Edninburgh from 22-26th August. Only done 10 miles twice though so would be worried about not making it round!

Its not that hard to be honest. It probably depends on which route you end up doing but at the tech rehearsal we didnt do more than 2 miles and the steepest sections were walked

I thoroughly enjoyed friday's run. In total we 'ran' 3 miles with repeated climbs of 200ft (according to my garmin). The pace was easy with lots of stops to twirl about! The steep bits were briskly walked with arms swinging so to the audience on the far hill it didn't look as if you were dawdling! I would strongly recommend hill shoes/studs though. On friday as it was dry, you could have got away with road shoes but with any dampness on the grass, and it would be very slippy. Enjoy!

i ran a 'super sunday' in the sleety snow and tech rehersal in torrential rain and then walked on a gloriously clear dress rehersal night.

My 'real' night is friday - just hope it is dry (please please please)
