What a weekend. That was the hardest thing I've ever finished. I have never felt so wasted after 50 miles before. F**k knows what got me though all that. I was delirious at the end having been spanked by the sun for two days. Thankyou to everyone who helped make that the best finish ever. Ogee, FMNS, PS66, Miss Sunshine, Drew, Activeight and everyone else it was amazing running with you at the end. Made an epic photo. Special thank to Els who pulled me through the roughest patch between 50-60 miles when I was sick and cramping. Gutted you didn't make it but delighted that you'll be there next year as will so many others. Also a big thank you to my wonderful Wine Legs. I hope you now understand what it is about that race that draws me to put myself through the mincer like this and come out of the other end broken, burning, delirious and pissing blood but somehow feeling better than ever. Greatest race ever. |
