I could take boy to parents, run, pick boy up and still get him to playgroup by 10 on a saturday.
Pefect all round.

Bob, Stander - Very soon hopefully. I know there is a meeting with the council in the next week to finalise the funding. A route has been sorted but I am unsure which park. Apologies for being vague, but I don't want to steal their thunder. I am merely helping them out as a "consultant".

Bob, with an offer of regular help I am sure they will bite your arm off.

In fact, off to send them an email now :-)

Good news. I wouldn't be adverse to marshalling, etc as well from time to time.

P.S. Admirals park would be fantastic as my folks live virtually next to it.

Change of plans. Just me and my baby boy coming down tomorrow so I'll be giving it the full beans, boys and girls.

GREAT SUCCESS!

Over 100 runners and it all went smooth as silk. Well done Al and the team. You were brilliant.

My boy, AKA Skinny Mini Me, is already tryingto work out where he can shave time off his shiny new parkrun PB.:-)

Trying to get a parkrun set up in Southend on Sea.

Summer 2011 - Asked parkrun about setting it up

Looked at potential courses
October 2011 - Application documents submitted to Southend Council
December 2011 - Met with council
Feb 2012 - 1st application rejected by Council
April 2012 - Met with Council again
July 2012 - 2nd event application submitted

August 2012 - Funding secured and event app accepted
25/09/12 - Shhh! Secret test event. Fmail for details!
13/10/12 - First Event!
