My incentive for batting round the first half will be that I shall be able to drag out old family photos taken in several places on the south of the route. There are lots of even older family photos from the north of Cornwall, but I'd need to be able to pull them off a CD-ROM or put my parents to a bit of trouble to send them to me in a form I can use.

I think I have a very vague intention of writing a blog every few weeks, that will include my current training, and then some pics, say every 50 miles, of where I am in reality and what it looks like on the path from street view or some such... I'll probably never do it, but you know plans, look at my success rate of WBC blogging, 1 so far.... |

I have loads of stories, though none to match McGoohan's SWCP blogs, and none from Minehead. I can probably spin one from Barnstaple.

We did a day trip to Land's End to Bristol back in 1992 or 1993. Got there, took photos, drove home. We do weird things like that!

I also have loads of family holiday pics from the stretch between Lynmouth and Clovelly, we stayed at the same property near Barnstable about 8 years on the bounce as well as several others in the locale. I do have older ones from the south coast and also Lands End/Sennen, but they're not so easily get-at-able.

Our summer holiday last year was along part of the SWCP. After the terrible trip in Rock, the holiday got cut short so we are hoping to go back and finish it off this summer - if caravan sites are open by then. I'll dig out some photos from last summer's holiday spots to illustrate my journey. |
