Bog is back
Did an 8 miler a couple of weeks ago and knee felt like it needed to click. Ran through it. Really sore for a few days but has gradually improved with ice and strapping. Need to do some long runs as training for marathon. Hurts more running downhill. Any advice please. Not running is not an option really. Gutted beyond belief. Thanks

I'm no expert, but as you're marathon training, building mileage could make it worse. Is it your first marathon? Can you see a physiotherapist? You'd get a better idea of the problem and remedial exercises. Hopefully someone who knows more than I do will join in with advice. Good luck!
