It's not impossible, of course (ref supply chain). And if products are "off the shelf" then clearly it's probably straightforward to order them through shell companies or similar to disguise the use, though it does leave an evidence trail.

But if you were working in a lab / company that supplied (say) EPO today there'd be at least one work colleague who would be switched on to doping in sport who had the potential to get inquisitive. Back to the James Bond analogy, it's not as if the lab workers or accounts staff etc are like the villain's henchmen, willing to do anything in the service of their evil employer without talking to their families about it etc. Doping is *such* a big talking point today, any covert activity to supply to teams or to sports participants would almost inevitably come unstuck at some point. Let's face it, if Sky and the jiffy bag or the testosterone were evidence of doping there in a team which self-styled itself on being rigorous, can we really imagine that no other team is capable of administrative cockups which leave a smoking gun or something fishy behind?

Ta - Pothunter, I hated Landis with a passion. Especially when it turned out he was a cheat.

I think we have to assume that this is activity which is at least related to the possibility of doping. Which on one hand is reassuing to see the authorities taking seriously, and on the other hand may be just a knee jerk reaction to a suspicion based on history.

But Armstrong thinking he's somehow better than Landis? Bloody hell the nerve.

Didn't know George Bennett's comments on Froome in the Giro, that's funny. Larks will be saying "it's all ok, just circumstantial, nothing to see here"

Antidoping troll on Twitter (but sums up my feelings)

"Don’t get too excited with French police raiding Bahrain’s hotel, the heavy stuff are not to be found in the official hotel room. Fuentes’ clients for example were taking blood bags in remote hotels, police never noticed it, US postal did it once in the bus and so on"

Remember even David Millar only got caught because he kept a syringe as a memento to remind him at all times that he won the world championship by cheating, most dopers don't have that kind of conscience (see Landis, Armstrong, Riis etc etc)
